A lot of people have been asking me, how is the pandemic going and if Uruguayans are getting vaccinated. I was going to update you here but there was so much to tell, I ended up writing four š® articles so that I could share detail. Still no firm news. On July 18, in an exchange with a journalist, the president mentioned our spring (spring being Sept-November) as a possibility. This echoes what the Minster of Health said back in May. Our translation of the presidentās words:
āOne of the hardest hit sectors that we have to help reactivate is tourism, if we can, and if all this that we have been experiencing and the new variants [of the coronavirus] allow it, we are thinking of opening the border in the spring for some people who are immunised.ā
