Message from the President, John McRae

Greetings to all TreeProject supporters. We are now nearing the end of the busiest few months in the TreeProject calendar. November, December and January are always very busy with seed packing , grower training, kit preparation, kit pickup and ensuring that all growers have sown their seeds.

Seedlings for the 2025 Autumn Planting Season are now all sown and many growers have loads of seedlings already. Of course, nature is not always consistent and some growers are still waiting for germination. Next month, it’ll be time to start swapping and thinning so that we can collectively cover all of our orders.

For the 2025 Spring Planting Season, many growers have sown already but there are still some kits being prepared for growers. That means that our manager, Susi Milton, is still organising staff and volunteers in the background. Hopefully all seeds will be sown by the 2^nd week in February.

Upcoming Volunteering Opportunity

at Kensington Stockyards Depot Nursery

We'll be getting the nursery ready to grow our beautiful seedlings. It’s going to be a fun, hands-on day, where volunteers can learn a lot about indigenous plants and meet like-minded people and share some laughs.

Everyone is welcome, volunteers don’t need experience. You’re welcome to join us for any session of the day that works for you, whether it’s just one session or the whole day. Your support would mean a lot to us!

Friday, 7 February 10am-4pm
