August marked the start of the new school year and introduced a new short study abroad program. We also closed out the month with HUE kicking off its semester. Please keep reading to learn more about these programs and to see the announcement for next year's alumni and friends tour of Greece.

HUE

Harding University in Europe

The HUE group departed the US on Saturday, August 23, beginning their semester abroad with a stop in Rome, Italy. During their five days in Rome, they visited iconic places like the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican and so much more! They even took a Vespa tour of Rome to get acquainted with the Eternal City. On Thursday, the group traveled to Florence, where they will spend the next several days experiencing life as a HUF student in the Villa. 
COMM 1010 in Greece

We closed out our summer of study abroad in August, hosting a small group of students on our campus in Greece. The purpose of the program was to offer a required liberal arts class overseas (COMM 1010 - Communication Principles), giving any student the chance to enjoy a short study abroad experience. In addition to class time, the group toured Athens, Corinth, and Sounion before returning to Searcy just in time for the start of the fall semester.

International Programs Breakout Chapel

On August 26, we hosted our first of four breakout chapels for returning students. This gave students a chance to enjoy a “mini reunion” and begin reflecting on how their time abroad connects to life back on campus. Each session is designed to guide students in thinking about their personal, professional, and spiritual development—helping them bridge where they’ve been with where they are going.
Announcing Alumni Tour to Greece 2026

    Back by popular demand, our alumni tour of Greece will return for a third year in a row in 2026! Alumni and friends of Harding University are invited to join us at HUG (Harding University in Greece) from September 25 - October 4, 2026 as we explore Athens, Corinth, Delphi, Meteora, Crete, Santorini, and more! 

    We also still have a few more spots available for our 2027 tour of Egypt during the total solar eclipse. You can find out more about both of these trips on the Alumni Travel website, along with the application to sign up. Each program is already about half full, so sign up today!
