A Prayer for Ukraine
God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children at risk and in fear that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus the Prince of Peace. Amen.

Hi Everyone!
My oh my how quickly time is flying by! Only one more week until we begin our journey through Advent. I sure hope Advent doesn't fly by as fast as the month of November is!
I think "Frosty" has the right idea! What a blessing to see this mild weather return! Single digit temperatures (and very little new snow!) right until the end of the month? Wow - It's going to feel almost tropical! Thank goodness we aren't in Buffalo right now, where they are preparing to get four FEET of snow this weekend! Better get those snowplows ready! Did our winter weather pattern somehow get flipped around with theirs? I think we definitely got the better deal!
Okay - enough about this bizarre/fascinating/great weather. Let's see what I've got for you in this week's Newsletter:
- Attention all CWL members - your group photo appointment for the Pictorial Directory is set for this Tues. Nov. 22 at 8 pm. Please see more details directly below.
- The next Truth and Reconciliation Discussion Group Meeting is scheduled for this Wed. Nov. 23 at 7 pm. All the details are below.
- Our Knights of Columbus are going to get us in the Christmas spirit on Sunday, Dec. 4, with a Fun Family Afternoon! Families will not want to miss this crafty, creative, yummy two-hour event! Be sure to check out the cute display in the Welcome Area as well as the details below!
- The annual Christmas Social for CWL and K of C members will be on Monday, Dec. 5. Don't forget to buy your tickets! The details are below.
- The response to the St. Mary's Christmas food hamper program has been amazing so far! Let's keep going! There is still more room for more families/individuals to sign up for this important Christmas project - these food hampers are so very much needed and appreciated! There are other ways you may also help out - check out the updated details below.
- The picture-taking for the PIctorial Directory has been going very well! If you don't have an appointment but would still like to get your photo taken for the Directory, see how to do so, below.
- Don't forget about the Refugee Committee's Annual Fair Trade Sale - all orders for Fair Trade coffee, tea, and chocolate products are due in to Sheila Flory by Dec. 4. Please see below for many more details.
- A reminder that the Knights of Columbus Co-op Gift Cards will be on sale THIS weekend, Nov. 19-20, after both weekend Masses. Scroll down below to learn more.
- Campaign Life Coalition SK will also be selling their Christmas fruit cake and Christmas cards this weekend, Nov. 19-20! Be sure to stop by their table in the Welcome Area after the weekend Masses to purchase yours! More details remain below.

- Remember - for the month of November, we will be collecting whole grain pasta and whole grain cereals for the Food Bank. More details are below.
- We are still looking for two more adults to help out with Children's Liturgy. This is a great (fun!) way to contribute to "building up our Parish", starting with the little ones! More details are below under "Parish Liturgical Ministries", in yellow.
- A reminder that there is still time to make a donation to the BAA, if you so choose. The details remain below.
- The next Bereavement Support gathering will be held on Tuesday, November 22. Anyone can join at any time - we would love to have you. Please see more details below.

- Here is another special Christmas opportunity - helping out with some Prison Outreach by sharing the Christmas spirit through a monetary donation. You can find more information about how you can help, below.
- Want to go out for Sunday Brunch this Sunday? Why not head down to St. Joseph's Hall on Broadway, between 10 am - 1 pm, and enjoy their fabulous monthly Pancake Breakfast! All the yummy details are below.
It really is nice to see the weather warming up again - just in time for Grey Cup Sunday! Even though our beloved Roughriders are not in the Big Game (in Regina!), it will still be fun to watch the east - west battle in our Canadian football finale! And then, next Wed. Nov. 23, our Men's Canadian soccer team will be taking on Belgium in their first game of the World Cup! This is our first World Cup appearance for our men's team in 35 years, so we better cheer loud for our lads in the red and white! Go Canada Go!
Have a great weekend, everyone, enjoy the beatiful mild temperatures and talk to you next week - as together we welcome in the beautiful season of Advent!
Balmy Blessings,
Marlene
