NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone, the Belfast Summer School in Latin and Classical Greek starts tomorrow so I may be quiet for a couple of weeks. It's an exciting and busy time, and I'm looking forward to 'meeting' my students tomorrow.

Below, you will find advance notice of online ancient Greek courses in the autumn, and a link to the second part of my blog on Greek Drama.

In the meantime, enjoy the picture above of the Knossos fresco of the bull-leapers.

Best wishes, Helen

Online classes

Learn Classical Greek

I am pleased to announce that from September, I will be offering weekly online classes in Classical Greek for beginners. These will take place on Saturdays, 1.00-2.00pm (UK time), commencing on Saturday 12th September and continuing until 12th December, with the exception of 31st October. Classes will be conducted on Zoom and students will need to have access to the textbook, "Greek to GCSE book 1" by John Taylor, published by Bloomsbury. The fee for these classes is £90.

Please contact me on helen@helenmcveigh.co.uk if you are interested or have questions.

Ancient Greek Literature

Comedy

Last week I focused on the Tragic competition at the Dionysia. (You can read this here.)

There was also a Comic competition in which five single plays by five different playwrights were judged.
