An independent report for the UK Committee on Climate Change by an Imperial College London expert recommends policies that will help people make greener choices. It encourages people to put pressure on their local schools, councils or workplaces to provide plant-based options. Template letters are available from the Vegan Society.

New sponsor for world's only 100% vegan football club, here in the UK

Did you know that there is a vegan football club?  Forest Green Rovers FC play in the English League Two and are based in Nailsworth in Gloucestershire. They are proud of their healthy lifestyle which they say contributed to their fifth place finish in the league in the 2018-19 season.

Forest Green are now sponsored by Bute Islands Foods who will provide Sheese at their ground. Their match day menu is fully vegan.

7 Dec: Bring peace to all this Christmas

Viva! have said: "Being vegan has never been more important, or easy to do! Eating meat-free this festive season is the kindest and most compassionate thing you can do for the animals, your health and the environment. Let our Christmas pages inspire you to try something different this year!"

We are running a stall at St George's Square in Hebden Bridge on Saturday, 7 December to share some of our usual supportive information, focused on the 'Bring peace to all this Christmas' message from Viva!, particularly for turkeys. Thanks to Sacred Space and Compassion in World Farming.

25 Jan: Cube of Truth, Hebden Bridge

The Cube of Truth is a peaceful static demonstration akin to an art performance. This demonstration operates in a structured manner that triggers curiosity and interest from the public; they attempt to lead bystanders to a vegan conclusion through a combination of local standard-practice animal exploitation footage and conversations with a value-based sales approach.

The Cube of Truth is organised by Anonymous for the Voiceless. The demo comes to Coffee Cali, Hebden Bridge on Saturday, 25 January at 12.30pm. Volunteers are welcome to help.
