Hey friends
2023 is a bit of a milestone year for us, as it marks 10 years since our very Salt of the Sound music was released.
Way back on April 15th 2013 we tentatively shared a song called Listen on our Soundcloud page, without any idea or expectation of where it might lead, or what people's responses might be.
Then, as now, we were overwhelmed with the positive reaction to the music, and over the years we slowly moved towards an 'ambient worship' style of production, leaving behind some of our earlier electronic sounds in favour of a more organic, earthy-yet-ethereal feel.
One of the tracks that helped us along this journey was Even the Wind and the Waves Obey Him, which was written more as an instrumental interlude than anything else, but has since become our most popular track on streaming services, with over 2.5 million (!!) streams on Spotify alone.
So to celebrate this decade of Salt of the Sound, we thought we'd record a reimagined version of this track, adding some vocals and producing it in a way that feels more in keeping with our current style, while also adding a few atmospheric oceanic field recordings in there towards the end...
+ Be Still and Know His Name is out now on all digital music platforms, as is also available to download for free (or 'pay what you want') on Bandcamp!
