In the end, as I mentioned in the previous newsletter, my work mainly consists of moments in which I don't even see a sewing machine or needle and thread!

In recent months, I have received several messages from users like you who, after reading the blog article on Valentina, asked me if I was planning to do a course on the subject.

The many questions made me realise just how interested my readers are in this subject. I rolled up my sleeves and threw myself headlong into making a video course dedicated to learning how to make skirt pattern with Valentina, from the measurements stage to printing.

I wanted to create a mini-course as a step-by-step introduction to Valentina that would allow everyone to complete their first concrete project so that they would really have something under their belt at the end of the course. Above all, however, I wanted it to be affordable and therefore accessible to everyone.

Well, getting in front of the camera is not at all easy, I discovered.

Then again, how hard can it be to make 10 videos?

On the contrary, I discovered it takes a lot of work between lighting, editing, montages, graphics, subtitles, you name it! It's nice to challenge myself and learn new things, but unfortunately, it took me a lot of time in the beginning.

Don't despair, though. We are already more than halfway through the course. My motto is 'slow but relentless'.

Given the number of hours spent watching movies and TV series where period costumes are displayed, I thought I would start a new column where I will share a movie or series featuring period costumes.

I will indicate the historical period in which they are set and give a star rating to the costumes.
