Did you know that there is an internal MSU process for eligibility when applying for Institutionally Limited Proposals? The Office of Research and Innovation is responsible for coordinating the internal review and selection of competing proposals when their number exceeds what is allowed by the sponsor as specified in their program announcement or request for proposals. This applies to all types of proposals (fellowship, individual awards, equipment, training, research, etc.), sponsors (federal, state, foundation, etc.), and award types (grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, etc.).
DER can help you navigate the Institutionally Limited Proposal application process and can help provide instruction and tips to help strengthen your internal proposal review.
More information can be found at https://vp.research.msu.edu/ilp. To start the process, simply complete your Proposal Processing Form and a staff member from DER will be assigned to help you through the next steps!
If you have additional questions regarding Institutionally Limited Proposals, or the Institutionally Limited Proposals application process, please send an email to proposals@egr.msu.edu.
