"Hi everyone, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a few words before I leave what has been the best band I have ever been a part of. Who would have thought that all those years ago when Nick and I decided to form a Led Zeppelin tribute band to play local pubs and clubs that it would progress to us performing in some of the most prestigious venues all over the UK, playing Led Zeppelin's incredible music. This is largely down to YOU, our faithful followers (some of whom have become good friends) who have enabled me to do this as a living for the past twenty-five years.
I had planned to be with the band until the end of next year for their 'Farewell Tour', but sadly, circumstances (mainly medical but nothing serious) have forced me to re-think my original plan and with a heavy heart I have to say goodbye, but as they say 'All good things come to an end' and for me the time is now.
It has been an incredible journey with many, many highs (and the occasional low) but it has always been exciting and unpredictable.
My thanks also go out to all the past and present members of Whole Lotta Led throughout the years however short (two shows) or long their tenure, they are all part of this amazing bands history.
Despite me leaving I must emphasise that this is NOT the end of Whole Lotta Led. The band will still be touring throughout 2022, continuing to play Led Zeppelin's incredible music just with a new face on bass, auditions are underway and we will announce the (in my view) very lucky newcomer as soon as we can. I have no doubt that you will continue to support them, as will I, over the next year.
I won't be disappearing entirely as I have agreed to continue to work in the background helping out with the bands publicity, mailing list and website so you may hear from me from time to time.
And last, but by no means least, I have to thank Mr Nick Ferris for being by my side throughout all of these twenty-five years, through the good, bad and sometimes crazy circumstances we have found ourselves in, I couldn't have done it without you Nick.
So I leave you with the immortal words of Mr Robert Plant:
"Leaves are fallin' all around,
Time I was on my way,
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay
But now it's time for me to go
The autumn moon lights my way
For now I smell the rain and with it pain
And it's headed my way"
Thanks for everything, Geoff
