Sometimes you chase an idea hard because you believe in it. That’s what the
A-List was for me — a way to bring people together for experiences that felt
local, creative, and alive. For a few weeks, it worked. We told good stories, got people dreaming,
and learned what our readers respond to (and what they don’t).
But keeping it rolling every week was a bigger lift than one guy with a keyboard and a stubborn
streak could manage. AI helped — until it didn’t. Turns out even the robots need a breather.
So, the A-List is taking a pause. Not a funeral, just a deep breath. To everyone who sent in their
$10 deposit — your refund is already in the mail. And to everyone who clicked, voted,
or just read along: you reminded me why I started ContraCostaLive in the first place — to give this
community a little more connection, a little more purpose, and a few more smiles.
