It's the 25 year anniversary for Memento, which is now available on Amazon Prime.
The film was given a budget of $4.5 Million after an executive at Newmarket Films read the script and called it "perhaps the most innovative scripts I had ever seen". After its release, the indie film gained substantial word-of-mouth press from the festival circuit, but never secured a distributor. Newmarket would distribute the film itself and it would go on to earn $25 Million domestically.
Synopsis: Leonard Shelby, an insurance investigator, suffers from anterograde amnesia and uses notes and tattoos to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife, which is the last thing he remembers.
