    Thought for the day

    Knowledge

“What does learning mean: accumulating knowledge or transforming your life?” - Paolo Coelho

I sure thought about that today when I have been making notes 8-9 hours each day on my "holiday". I am working on my dissertation proposal for the MA studies and writing an essay. Plus making an academic poster and museum catalogue.

It feels like gathering tons of little information (in order to paste them together for a greater whole), but at the same time I am transforming my life. Studying Egyptology has been a lifelong dream, and 11 years ago I started doing something to reach my dream of becoming an Egyptologist. And as a "side effect" I have started to write novels where I can use all that knowledge I have accumulated.  Writing novels was another dream of mine.

So here I am, accumulating knowledge, writing books, living my dream.

Write down the positive things in your day, and let them lift your spirits
    Happiness Journal / Spring Flower

The very first spring flower in Finland is the common hepatica. I think there's nothing common about it - that beautiful violet colour in the midst of the brown leaves on the ground is a breath of fresh air after winter.
