Behind all the directors and coordinators lies, in fact, a little person who never imagined they would one day hold such “serious” positions. See here what the EcoVisio team looked like.

We were so happy to see familiar faces from our community, as well as new ones -people who may not have interacted with EcoVisio before, but who came with an open mind, curiosity, and positive energy.

It was a full day: filled with discussions, moments of connection, stories about EcoVisio’s 13 years, participatory activities, and many conversations that reminded us just how valuable the community around us is.

The climate is changing. Cities are changing too. But are they changing in the right direction?

The concept of the Sponge City helps us look at urban infrastructure differently: how can a city better absorb water, reduce the risks posed by extreme weather events, protect people, and have a smaller impact on the environment?

On the eve of the International Day of Climate Action, we invite you to a guided walk through Chișinău, where together we will observe:

• places with potential for climate action
• examples of good adaptation practices
• urban practices that can increase the city’s vulnerability
• new ways of understanding our relationship with the space we live in

The walk will be on foot and will include elements of analysis, reflection, information, and discussion.

Every day, we use parks, courtyards between apartment buildings, public squares, and other public spaces. Although these spaces belong to everyone, in Moldova they are not always safe, accessible, or adapted to everyone’s needs. One reason is that decisions about these spaces are often made without the participation of all those who use them.

For these reasons, we are conducting a broader study on how young people can be part of shaping the appearance and use of public spaces in the city.

In other words, the study is about how young people can influence decision-making in the city and how public spaces are managed.
