Happy International Women's Day !

If you're looking for great picture books featuring bold women to share with the littles in your life, check out this picture book roundup that includes some of the title's on my comelibrito's (my little bookworm's) shelves!

I can't tell you how excited I am that spring is just a few weeks away! After a long, stressful winter, I'm really eager to shift towards the "new beginnings" energy that comes with spring.

On the personal front, I'm thrilled to report that our roof is FINALLY repaired (woohoo!).

On the writer front, I'm gearing up for fun trips to two writer's conferences:

  • AWP in Portland, OR, where I'll be selling (I have just a few copies left) & signing copies of Words or Water at the Finishing Line Press Table (Thursday 3/28 @ 11:00 - 11:30am & Friday 3/29 @ 3:00 - 3:30pm)

Here I am at AWP 2016. I was expecting: a book and a baby!

If you plan to attend either conference, please HIT REPLY and let me know! I'd love to try to connect in person.

These conferences can be overwhelming, so it's always good to go into them with a game plan (and with snacks).

This month on the blog, I chat about how helpful it can be to set an intention or two to help guide your conference planning.

I've also created a handy free worksheet for download that can help you plan for AWP (or any conference): "CONFERENCING WITH INTENTION."

You can read about my AWP plans & Intention Setting here. And you can read about my plans for The Muse & Marketplace, the "You Need a Website" session I'm leading, and about my upcoming Author Websites Course here.  You can also grab a copy of the "Conferencing with Intention" worksheet by checking out either post.

Finally, if you miss hearing my voice (lol)... or are just interested in hearing me read poems, after chatting about the 2020 election, education, pop culture, and more, you can read about and then listen to my appearance on the #Conceitednobodi podcast. I had so much fun hanging out with the #Conceitednobodi fam and hope to do it again soon.

That's what I've got for you this month! Remember to HIT REPLY and let me know if you're going to either conference -- I'd love to see you there!

P.S. If you have any writer friends who might benefit from some conference-going tips and inspiration, as well as my free worksheet “CONFERENCING WITH INTENTION,” please forward this email their way. As we’re trying to teach our toddler: “sharing is caring.” ¡Gracias!
