Training of Georgian judges on re-opening cases
27 judges became better aware of legal aspects of reopening the cases at national level following the judgments of the European Court of  Human Rights.
Dialogue on marginalised people, human rights, and development ethics in Moldova
Topics included gender-based violence as cause and consequence of marginalisation, negotiating ethnic and cultural diversity in multicultural democracies, labour markets, opportunity and mobility, accommodating and empowering persons with disabilities.
Moldova initiates awareness raising campaign on the importance of non-discrimination
New video and radio spots against age discrimination have been aired, encouraging dialogue between generations. The goal is to contribute to reducing social distance between generations and to integrate elderly people into various social and cultural activities in Moldova
Seminar on the policy and practice in minority language education in Ukraine
The main idea of the seminar was to present the findings of the Venice Commission report regarding Article 7 of the Law on Education of Ukraine and to discuss the models of teaching in minority languages in other Council of Europe member states.
New report on ill-treatment in the activities of the Ukraine police force
Research shows that, despite ongoing reform process and significant efforts to implement European human right standards in the activity of law-enforcement bodies, the problem of ill-treatment still exists and has a systematical nature.
Human rights publications presented in Belarus
A panel discussion on the right to a fair trial in the light of the law of the European Court of Human Rights was held on 30 May. The event was combined with the presentation of the Russian editions of three Council of Europe publications.
Abolition of death penalty discussed in Minsk
Roundtable on how the abolition of death penalty would affect the convicts, victims, legislative system and society as a whole, and which legislative changes were necessary in the immediate aftermath to abolition.
