Miles-Wildin and Ng, Theatre by the Lake and Graeae present //Tuning In//
//Tuning In// a new co-production between Theatre by the Lake, Miles-Wildin and Ng and Graeae and comes to Keswick this June. The show was originally developed as part of TBTL’s digital SPARK programme in 2021 and is supported by National Theatre's Generate programme. Theatre by the Lake are proud to be supporting this new work as part of Tourettes Awareness Month. “During Tourette's Awareness month, 15 May – 15 June, we want to destigmatise Tourette Syndrome, showing the general public what the reality of TS looks like, dispelling some of the myths that surround it.”
This witty tour de force explores the destructive nature of disability prejudice, the damage caused by trying to fit in, and the risk involved in being who you are. All performances of the show have creative captioning and creative integrated audio description.
Meet Reagan, sitting at home covered in blood, trying to unravel the mystery of his disastrous first date. A restaurant disaster with a steak knife? A night club toilet, shard of broken glass? The only thread Reagan can hold onto is Cameron Flanagan, the lighthouse in a fog of neurosis. Cameron was Reagan’s date last night. If he can find what happened to Cameron, all will be revealed.
//Tuning In// is directed by Nickie Miles-Wildin and written and performed by Adam Fenton, who was nominated for an Offie in 2022 for his lead performance in The Solid Life of Sugar Water (Orange Tree Theatre). He was also the winner of the Evening Standard Future Theatre Fund award for Acting 2021.
