Marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 has been a rough year for the entire globe and all aspects of society, including the research community. It has also been a rough year in terms of progress in climate action, despite the temporary environmental silver lining of forced confinement all around the world. Hoping that 2021 will mark the recovery from the pandemic and that said recovery will be a truly green and sustainable one on the basis of ‘building back better’, the PARIS REINFORCE consortium wishes you a Healthy, Just, and Happy New Year!
On December 9, 2020, the PARIS REINFORCE project held its virtual workshop focusing upon the Central Asian and Caspian region. This was with the purpose of allowing modelling teams to develop stakeholder-driven modelling scenarios, and co-creating some of the core assumptions being fed into models. You may view more information and browse the presentations here.
New interventions in scientific events!
In December 2020, PARIS REINFORCE members participated in various scientific events, including the 13th Annual Meeting of the Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium (IAMC), the 5th Energy Symposium of the Italian Association of Energy Economics (AIEE), and the 78th Semi-Annual ETSAP Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA-ETSAP). You may find more on the events and access the PARIS REINFORCE presentations on the project website, here for the 5th AIEE Energy Symposium, and here for the 78th Semi-Annual IEA-ETSAP Meeting.
