We Connect Lithuania - Program Update

The participants of GLL summer youth program We Connect Lithuania are getting ready for 6 weeks of immersive professional experience in Lithuania-based companies, leading startups, public sector and social enterprises. They have been invited to join different companies and organizations such as Nasdaq, European Commission, Ministries, CGTrader, Baltic Environmental Forum, TransferGo and many others for a summer internship. Talent for Lithuania - Interviews in Progress

GLL program Talent for Lithuania is greeting new participants who have joined different companies and organizations based in Lithuania for paid internships. This spring-summer season 20 more participants will join young talent community. The program has become a great tool for work-based learning for recent graduates and a channel of new colleagues for companies. Most of the companies are willing to offer long-term employment opportunities for the participants. Meet the participants.

Lietuva³ Discussion on Justice

On May 9, GLL and Triniti finalised the 4th season with the discussion on justice. Having analyzed the reasons why people miss justice in many legal situations, the panelists came up with following solutions: 1. Improving the public sector by making it more transparent, accessible, and of better quality. 2.  Inducing community spirit by taking more personal responsibility, increasing trust in others and ourselves, and changing own attitude towards a more positive one.  Photo and video summary of the discussion. LT Big Brother - Brothers and Sisters Matched

This May, Global Lithuanian mentorship program LT Big Brother opened an exclusive season! The program, which already counts 10 years, continues connecting experienced Lithuanian professionals with the junior starters. We are excited to announce that program has 170 mentors and 200 matches. As usual,  the new season will begin with Mentors Business Breakfast on May 29. It is meant for sharing professional experiences, inspiring stories, or talking about mentorship challenges and success. GLL Vote for Global Citizens of Lithuania!

GLL has been founded on the idea of global Lithuania, and we strongly support double citizenship. Big thanks to Jurgis Didžiulis for contributing to solving this issue – Lithuania has always been a global country, therefore it is highly important that every Lithuanian – no matter where they are based – would be legitimate citizens of the country. Business Diplomacy of Global Lithuanians

Lithuanian Business Association in Dubai in cooperation with Enterprise Lithuania organised the visit of UAE business delegation to Lithuania. During two day program group of 15 businessmen met prime minister Saulius Skvernelis, visited the largest startup base in the Baltics Vilnius Tech Park, and laser and technology cluster LITEK, had informal conversations with the representatives of the public and business sectors of Lithuania on potential forms of cooperation.  Read in more detail and visit the site of Lithuanian Business Association in Dubai.

Sandra Bernotaitė - Global Copyrighter

Ten years ago, she went to live in Australia where she had perfect conditions to work as a full time independent writer. She came back to Lithuania with four published books under the belt. Her blog www.grafomanija.lt advices and teaches creative writing. She is also a chief editor of the magazine “Pasaulio lietuvis” (“World’s Lithuanian”).

As the sharing person, she gladly gives advise for future creative writiers: A good text is powerful when (1) it is cognitively fluent; (2) has a message or an idea or is raising an important question; (3) is honest. All of this can seem quite simple, but requires practice and effort. Read more.

Linas Tarasonis - Global Practices to Local Science

Alumnus of Sorbonne University and Paris School of Economics, co-founder of the Network of Global Lithuanian Researchers in Economics drawn back to Lithuania by growing international team of the Bank of Lithuania, Linas Tarasonis took as his personal mission to improve the quality of the studies of Economics at Vilnius University.  In cooperation with young team with international experience, they developed the three-year Bachelor program of Quantitative Economics in English with intention to raise completely different generation of young researchers. The most talented ones will be able to apply for a worthy subject without travelling abroad. Read more about the program.
