WOW……. What a year 2020 was…….

Have you ever laid on the grass staring into a beautiful blue sky…. You start focusing on one point and then you notice the sky come ALIVE with movement….

It is almost as though there are millions of little white worms floating all over, in no specific pattern, with no specific purpose …….just floating…….

This is how a large number of people must have felt on many occasions during 2020, like a little white worm floating with no specific pattern and no specific purpose…..just floating…..

At what point do you question changing what has been done for a 108 years? Evolution has shown us that when the environment changes, there are only two options - adapting or dying……

Becoming extinct is not an option for us!!! The only option in the ever changing environment of social service delivery has been to ADAPT and CHANGE……

CHANGE IS A PROCESS, NOT AN EVENT …

We are lock, stock and barrel in this process – there is no turning back….

Looking at the progress made in one year – WOW …..

There is no doubt in my mind that there is NO REASON to turn back….

Looking forward …. moving forward is the only direction for us ……..

“Things don’t have to change the world to be important”

We may not be able to change the WORLD through our daily activities but what we do IS IMPORTANT……if we can bring about change …. One child at a time ….. the world will eventually change!!!

Child Protection Services remains at the core of our daily activities and the challenges experienced sometimes seem unmanageable. But if one considers the quote that “if something doesn’t challenge you then it doesn’t change you”, then it is evident that we do need to realise, acknowledge and accept that 108 years of doing something does not mean that there is no opportunity for change and growth………………

We all have a role to play in the change that we want to see in the world around us. Each employee, volunteer, board member, supporter, donor and contributor within our Organisation has played a significant role and each contribution has made an impact on the lives of the children we are working with.

This year we once again focus on the super C’s for the year …..

CHOICES …….. CHANCES ………CHANGES ..……COMMITMENT

Let’s choose what needs to change –

whether it means thoughts, attitudes or behaviour….

Let’s take the chance and adapt to the environment around us –

for the sake of our children……

Let’s commit to changing and remaining passionate about what we do, caring enough to make a difference…….
