Bouncing BACK into the SUMMER holidays...

https://www.friendsofhardiepark.co.uk/news/back_to_normal/

Now that Covid restrictions have eased we will continue to work to find the right balance for our staff and customers, back to normal vs safe space for all.

Conscious that case numbers are still high we are continuing with some of the best practice - windows open, toilet queue outside, sanitiser, QR codes for optional check in.

Masks and face coverings optional, although welcome. Our volunteers and staff team may choose to wear face coverings whilst serving.

If you are taking away, amazing. If you are using the cafe, please respect our staff and volunteers who will monitor cafe numbers so that we all feel safe and comfortable.

Thanks for your understanding.

LOVE : RESPECT : PROTECT

We’ve been raising awareness on our social media channels this month supporting Keep Britain Tidy’s campaign for Love Parks Week 2021. It’s everyone’s responsibility to keep our spaces clean and green. If you use the park, PLEASE dispose of your rubbish in one of the 10 bins provided or better still, take it home with you.

The campaign highlights many of the issues parks across the country are experiencing. We are very lucky that in more recent years our community ON MOST OCCASIONS USUALLY GET IT.

Here’s a reminder of what makes a park a great space for all.

. be friendly and share the space

. enjoy your local community park

. respect those working in the park

. don't leave litter for George

. care for nature

. keep your dogs under control

. scoop your poop

CYCLING THE CLARION WAY

Matt Hill our Cycle Hub Manager organised a very relaxed cycle ride earlier in the month with fellow members of the Clarion Cycle Club from Upminster to Hardie Cycle Hub and back. The cafe within Hardie Park offered a great pit stop opportunity for the thirsty cyclists with seating both indoors and out, shade, coffee and toilets. Thanks for coming to see us earlier in the month. We really hope you spread the word and visit again sometime soon!

London Clarion is a mixed ability Cycling Club with 150 members from across London and the South East, who organise both recreational and competitive club rides and events throughout the year. Check them out on FB  @LondonClarionCycleClub

LOOKING FOR SOME WHEELS?

Hardie Cycle Hub may have just the bike for you! Here's a selection of some bikes that have been refurbed and resold to the community at reasonable prices. Message the FB page @hardiecyclehub or stop by for a browse. They're a friendly bunch and will do all they can to help you find the right bike for your needs.

Hardie Cycle Hub is open from 12-3pm

on Mon//Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun (closed Tuesday and Thursday)

BRING IT, WEIGH IT, FILL IT, PAY FOR IT

Katie and The Refill Cabin have been visiting the park recently, now settling into every other Tuesday. The cabin provides a regular spot to refill your empties and do your bit to reduce plastic and get the hang of a more sustainable lifestyle.

Pop along for a chat with Katie. She sells dried fruit, cereals, cleaning products, beauty products and so much more. Support small business and help, make a difference at the same time.

Katie will also be in the park on our Bounce Days (3rd and 17th August) from 11am to 3.30pm – Hope to see you there!
