Summer Update
June 2020

Dear All,

As we approach the end of term, we wanted to keep you up-to-date with all that we've been doing at the 28th during the lockdown.
On Thursday
, we'll be sending out our plan for Scouting At Home over the summer holidays.

Covid-19 Update & Future Plans

It's now close to three months since face-to-face Scouting was suspended. Our Chairperson, Peter Ritchie, has outlined what we've been doing during this time and what we need to consider when planning our return.

Read the update here.

We made the most of a wet weekend at our virtual camp with over 100 families taking part! Activities included creating campsites, climbing conic hill (at home) and making zip lines.

Care For Care Homes

Care homes have been hit incredibly hard by the pandemic so we're asking our Young People to become Kindness Champions ahead of National Care Home Day on June 26th.

Volunteer's Week - THANK YOU

Without our team of over 50 volunteers, Scouting wouldn't exist at the 28th.

A special thanks goes to Brian who, after 6 years, is standing down as GSL.

We asked Heather, Lisa and Andy why they volunteer.

And finally...

In order to bounce back better than ever before, we're going to need some extra help.

You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent.
Whatever your skillset, please consider lending a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare.

Have a go at this quiz to find a role that suits you best and make sure to let us know you're keen to help out by dropping us an email.

Kind Regards,

The Committee
