There are so many falsehoods in this one, it’s hard to know where to start, but let me be very clear – I did not “shutter the plant” in Franklin County and ship the jobs to Mexico and China. That’s just a lie. The truth is, the Franklin business I had led was purchased by Flextronics because of its fast growth. At Flextronics, I continued creating jobs – hundreds of jobs. In short, I was promoted for my successful performance and was asked to turn around an existing and struggling operation in Mexico. My family and I made the bold decision to relocate and under my leadership, the underperforning Mexico operation acutally doubled in three years. I was promoted again and relocated back to the US to take on another challenge. That is a success to be proud of, not a failure to be ashamed of.
The only truth in the attack mailer above is that the company eventually closed their plant – 5 years after I left it! Even then, it was because the company had expanded its presence in North Carolina and was consolidating operations.
To somehow insinuate it was my decision isn’t just ridiculous; it’s wrong and deceitful. Frankly, it’s precisely the kind of dirty politics that has made everyone distrustful of politicians.
The problem is, Bode and her allies from California and New York are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into this race, in an attempt to trick and confuse voters. They will stop at nothing to win – no lie is too brazen, no attack too over-the-top, and we know what a Bode win in November would do to our state and district.
Please stand with me – don’t let the lying liberals twist and steal this election with their dirty tactics. Chip in right now and help me raise the money we need to fight back, to expose their falsehoods, to rebut their accusations. Help me show the voters of District 18 they have a choice. If they know the actual positions and actual backgrounds of liberal lawyer lobbyist Mary Wills Bode versus conservative businessman E.C. Sykes, I know we’ll win.
Thank you once again for your support, and please keep me in your prayers. You know my mantra: “Pray as if it all depended on God, and work as if it all depended on you.”
Sincerely,
