World Water Day is March 22nd and many of us are looking for ways to support the Tech Boston Academy community this week, so I wanted to share this incredible project by Haitian ESL 1 students in Beth Wobbe's class. In term 2, Beth's students learned about the global water crisis and, more specifically, how it affects Haiti where only about 25% of homes have running water. They then partnered with an organization called Clean Water for Haiti that builds and installs biosand filters in Haitian homes. These filters use natural processes to clean contaminated water so it is safe to drink. The students Zoomed with the director of the organization and then created PSA videos to raise awareness of the issue and money to be donated to the organization. Check out their promo video here and their PSA here.
