This worship service is packed with good things. Our celebration begins with Bach "Prelude in C Minor." Elder Linda Sorensen calls us to worship and then we get to hear the Jelly Bean story (an awesome tradition). Our hymns include "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today" 232, "Joyful is the Dark" 230, and "Alleluia, Alleluia, Give Thanks" 240 with a bonus hymn during communion "Let Us Break Bread Together" 525. Suzanne Grimmesey delivers an encouraging Moment for Mission on the county's vaccination effort. I would encourage everyone to take a close look at our first scripture reading, Isaiah 25:6-9 as it speaks volumes about God's generous love for all of creation and celebrates the blessings that we encounter every day. Our second reading, John 20:1-18 tells the story of Mary's surprise encounters at the tomb.
It is also communion Sunday so come prepared with the elements..
This Sunday, Dr. Tamar Kamionkowski, a Professor of Bible at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, will present a webinar entitled The Book of Exodus and Passover which was recorded at the Spring Meeting of the Westar Institute on March 17. The holiday of Passover is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible more often than any other annual biblical holiday, and yet the origins of Passover are quite mysterious.
Please Join us Sunday right after Coffee Hour at 11 AM on Zoom!
