Well, now. Last week's question about covered bridges in state parks gave me pause. My answer was to be two in addition to Little Buffalo (Tyler State Park and Beltzville State Park), taken from a DCNR blog post from September 2019. Then loyal reader Donna listed four others - one of which was so glaringly obvious (McConnells Mill) that it made me wonder if that blog post was not meant to be comprehensive at all. So I went off to verify her research and indeed, Ralph Stover also boasts a covered bridge, as does Prince Gallitzin near the Pickerel Pond Day Use Area.
Alas, White Clay Creek lost its Yeatman's Bridge to arson in 1960 and it was never replaced.
So, thank you to Donna for keeping me honest!
On our ExtraGive page we talk about the experiences you may value in our state parks and forests. You'll feel better just reading them - name two of those important values and add one of your own!
And if you do indeed support those values and the work of the Foundation and would like to set up a little fundraising page of your own, click that nice blue "Fundraise" button at the top of our larger page. Thank you!
