NSF leads federal partners in accelerating the development of transformational, AI-powered innovation

The National Science Foundation today announced the creation of a new program that will significantly advance research in AI and accelerate the development of transformational, AI-powered innovation by allowing researchers to focus on larger-scale, longer-term research.

S3 (Science and Society @ State) Interdisciplinary Seed Grant

Funding available for each project will be in the range of $10,000. These interdisciplinary seed grants help create opportunities for collaborative research projects between the scholars working within a scientific/medical field, and the humanists, artists or social scientists who study that field.

Funding Innovation in Digital Learning: Catalyst Innovation Program Round 2

The Catalyst Innovation Program seeks to fund creative and innovative uses of tools, technology, and pedagogical approaches up to $10,000 for the purposes of allowing experimentation to enhance student learning.

Graduate fellowship application feedback sessions (NSF, NDSEG, etc.)

If you have graduate students preparing an application for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, the NDSEG Graduate Research Fellowship, or similar national awards to support graduate studies, please share information about the in-person feedback sessions the College is offering.

Feedback Needed

The College of Engineering is developing policies for faculty engaged in startup companies regarding how we can safely involve students in company research while ensuring academic progress is being made and overseen by unconflicted individuals or entities. Please provide feedback to John Verboncoeur or the Engineering Research Committee.
