APRIL 17, 2020 ~ Quarantine Blues & Plenty of Books

Heya Aurora Jean Alexander,

Life in quarantine is getting me down over the last few weeks. I haven't been able to get much writing done mainly because I can't get into the head space for it. I've been working on other things and been keeping things up. I just failed miserably on the writing front.

We had a holiday just last weekend if you recall. Easter Sunday it snowed, probably a good thing we did our Easter egg hunt on Saturday. The boys had a blast and I thought I was going to die when I was hiding them all over the place. I really need to think about getting healthy again.

Zeek found most of the eggs before his cousin Hope or his brother Zayne could. Every time Zayne found one Zeek got to it first. Ben walked around with Zayne though to help him get more eggs in his basket. They had a blast opening the eggs and finding what was inside. It was funny to see that they didn't care one bit about the money in the eggs. My niece was excited about the coins but the boys were like give me the chocolate.

The Easter egg hunt has been the highlight of my month so far. I am hoping things get better and this quarantine ends soon. I want to get things back to normal if possible.

What did you do for Easter? Or, what are you doing to keep the quarantine blues away?

Works In Progress Update...

I am still going through the edits on Tales of Ferrês. Trying to put the final touches on it before May comes. I have to write a new scene for the bonus story to give more closure. Hopefully that will lead to finishing off the stories and getting in the head space to move on to the next project.

I've been struggling with my depression a lot lately. This does mean I am going to miss my deadline for Gargoyle Sighted. I wanted to have the book finished by the end of May but it doesn't look like that will happen now. I will keep you updated on that front. I should still be on schedule to send out the next chapter in a week. I still have to finish the edits on it and get it approved to share by my editor Allison. Wish me good luck. If I am late next week with the release of the chapter I'm truly sorry.

~ Author Spotlight ~

This author spotlight I am going to talk about a good friend of mine. I just recently started reading book 1 in her: The Council of Twelve Series. A.J. Alexander is by far a talented writer with her own writing style. She has talked with me on several occasions how she does her writing. She will usually write the story out by hand then take it over to the computer. I for one can't do that...my hand just can't keep up with my mind.

A.J. is also an avid blogger in the bookish world. Her blog is called the Writer's Treasure Chest. On her blog she shares content about her fellow authors in the paranormal romance and fantasy genre. Then she also talks about her own books. Sometimes she even shares articles on how to better your writing craft. You can find out more about A.J. Alexander on her website HERE
