January in the South of France is surprising in its diverse climate. In the countryside, you might wake up to heavy fog, crunchy grass or even a dusting of snow. To protect the pool, we have even had to break a thick ice layer at this time of the year. However, the weather is more moderate at the seaside, and restaurants often open their terraces on sunny days. If you look hard enough, you will see tiny buds on the almond trees, and near the French Riviera, the mimosas are getting ready for their annual show.
