It's Time To Plan Your Pre-Christmas Break In Keswick, The Lake District

November can often feel dark and grey. It's a bit too early for Christmas Lights and decorations BUT it is a great month to take a trip to Keswick or start planning a festive get away.

It's much quieter, meaning you can browse our lovely shops and galleries and do a bit of Christmas shopping and once you've finished your shopping you can settle by a roaring fire and enjoy something warm to eat or drink.

Walk Of The Month

Keswick to Applethwaite and Millbeck

This low level walk takes you via field paths to the villages of Applethwaite and Millbeck just outside Keswick and back along the terrace road linking the two villages. There are superb views for most of the route of the surrounding fells making it a great walk when the fell tops are covered in snow or alternatively on a summer's day when you just want a gentle stroll where you can enjoy the views.

Fizzing with acrobatic feats, magical storytelling and original music, follow us into the Borrowers’ hidden world as the Main House at TBTL gets turned into a giant adventure playground for these small yet indomitable folk. A glorious re-telling of a much-loved childhood favourite which will set imaginations alight at Christmas.

Christmas Events For Your Diary

In the run up to Christmas, Keswick has lots of events taking place. Here are just a few that will be taking place in late November/early December - why not make a weekend of it and start your festive period off with a bang?

Fri 18th Nov - Christmas Lights Switch On - Come and join us for the Christmas Lights Switch on in Keswick on Friday 18 November. The day will begin with a festive food and gift market from 10.00am, entertainment in Packhorse Court from 4.45pm and on the main stage from 6.00pm. The lights will be switched on at 7.00pm.

Thurs 1st Dec - Santa Splash - Come on down to the Keswick Boat landings to watch our teams of Santas and Elves race on Derwentwater at noon.

Sat 3rd Dec - Christmas Tree Festival - Vote for your favourite Christmas tree and join in the carol singing outside Keswick Methodist Church.

Sun 4th Dec - Victorian Fayre - Free live entertainment on stage in the Market Place and Packhorse Court. Children's Funfair. Charity stalls selling a selection of Christmas homemde crafts, produce, festive fayre plus games, tombolas and raffles.
