Sunny day fun, YouTube activity, and bookish goodies!

I'm one of those people...

The kind who can't be trusted to shop for gifts too early because I cannot handle the wait. OMG. It kills me. And Easter is no different. Xav's basket spent two agonizing weeks in my office closet before I broke down on Sunday and handed it over. Happy (early) Easter!

We've also had some sunny, warm weather perfect for chalk art and chewing sticks in the driveway (Lulu handles all the stick chewing, in case you were worried about our dental situation).

Live Chat Replays on YouTube!

Replays of the monthly live chats that take place in my Grim Readers Facebook group will now be available on YouTube, starting with March 2023. I'll be posting future videos on the same night too, so YouTube viewers who aren't on Facebook will have a chance to enter the 48-hour monthly giveaway.

I meant to start doing this in February, but there were some issues. I hope we have those figured out now--at least I didn't receive any technical warnings for March, so fingers crossed!

The live Q&A will still happen in the Facebook group, but if you're not on Facebook and would like a video reply to a question, feel free to email me at angela@angelaroquet.com and I'll answer in the next chat.

I also have a few audiobook samples posted on my YouTube channel. You can check them out HERE. Don't forget to subscribe and click the bell to be notified when the next live chat replay is posted!

New from Kory M. Shrum

Not to brag (much) but since Kory is one of my critique partners (Conquest from the Four Horsemen of Bookocalypse) I've already read book 10 in her Shadows in the Water supernatural thriller series (set to release next week) and it's amaaazing!

If you're familiar with the series, this likely comes as no surprise. If you're not familiar with the series, you should definitely give it a try (book one is FREE!) and then pre-order "One Foot in the Grave" so you can devour it on release day (April 10th).

"One Foot in the Grave" cover

Louie Thorne uses her incredible gift to save two children, children who are far from ordinary. Unwilling to trust her with their secrets, Lou struggles to discover who they were running from and why.

As she searches for answers, she uncovers a cold case long buried. The story of a serial killer never captured. Someone ruthless enough to enter twenty homes and brutally murder the parents before abducting their infant children.

If Lou has found two of the missing kids, does that mean the other children are still alive? And can Lou save them before their time runs out?

Meanwhile, private investigator Robert King takes a case he knows he shouldn’t. But when a desperate mother begs for his help, he can’t turn her away. Still, it’s hard to believe her story about satanists and dark magic, the possibility of a cult thriving in the French Quarter, right on his doorstep. It’s the kind of thing he won’t believe until he sees it with his own eyes…

Have you read Sami Valentine?

I was a little late to the party with the Red Witch Chronicles (that you can read for FREE with Kindle Unlimited or snag the first book for 99¢ on Amazon) since book 9 just dropped last month. But I'm on board now, and just in time for the historical prequel series!

The Vampire's Courtesan series is launching this week (April 7th) with "A Time of Demons & Destiny" and I am in love with everything about this book!

"A Time of Demons & Destiny" by Sami Valentine

Trueblood meets Outlander in the Victorian Age.

Juniper is a witch, hidden amid the gas lamps of Victorian society, who knows the bloody shape of the future. Once, she fought to keep her village safe from vampires. Now, she is on the run with a terrible secret through the slums of Jack the Ripper's London.

When she is imprisoned in a vampire's lair alongside an officer from Scotland Yard, she faces his interrogation about a murder that rocked the front page of newspapers around the globe. She knows that he sees her as a courtesan with dangerous social ambitions, but the truth would scandalize him more. He already suspects that she fell in love with a killer.

As the candles melt in the dungeon, she answers his questions and hopes that a clue will lead to their escape. They have until nightfall before their captors rise...

"A Witch Called Red" by Sami Valentine

If the Vampire Diaries had a love child with the show Supernatural.

In the dark underworld, they know her as Red, a witch trained as a demon hunter, where she came from is a mystery.

When a murdered model washes up on a beach, Red knows the bite marks on the victim can mean only one thing. She goes to Los Angeles to hunt the killer, teaming up with a punk rock vampire with a conscience. The death count grows as she sinks into a supernatural conspiracy.

The trail leads to undead mogul Kristoff who seems to know her better than she knows herself. Sexy and dangerous, he is more than her prime suspect, he might hold the truth to her mysterious origins.

Red needs to keep her wits sharp. And her stake sharper. Or she'll die before she even learns her real name…
