Message from Rev. Aileen

Resilience is the ability to bounce back. It is the act of being flexible. It is the ability to become strong, healthy or successful again after something bad happens. It would be nice to think that we all live perfect stress free lives devoid of tragedy, sadness or pain. But for the most part, we all experience pain and loss. Grief, anger, pain and disillusionment can be overwhelming. We just need time to process it and from person to person this can look very different. Community is the key. Allowing people to help us build our strength back, be with us in our grief, pain or loss. We can bounce back. Maybe not to where we were before but to a place where we might be fragile and yet stronger (a strange paradox).
