Sai Ram, Dearest Brothers and Sisters,
Pray that you and your families are all keeping safe and well.
March’s edition of Love & Light brings you an update from the National Office Bearers and Active Workers Conference that took place on 19th February at Bushey Arena. As you may know, this was our first in-person National Event since December 2019.
The conference was an opportunity to look back over the last two years in which the world had changed. Centres and Groups had to close due to coronavirus; we lost friends and loved ones to the pandemic; front-line workers who are our true angels worked tirelessly and risked their lives and still continue to do so; but we turned into an Organisation that had online bhajans, Bal Vikas classes, Vedam chanting, study circles and satsangs. Centres and Groups remained in contact with their devotees, ensuring that the vulnerable and elderly were looked after. Service of need reached a peak with devotees making PPE to be sent abroad as well as to different NHS trusts in the United Kingdom.
We have also been through a reform of the Organisation structure at a global level and the changes that come with it.
As we look back at the last 24 months, it has been tough, and I thank Swami for being in our lives: He has protected and guided us each step of the way. Something that has kept each and every one of us going is knowing that Swami has reassured us He will protect us like the eyelid protects the eye and that nothing happens without HIS WILL.
The conference was also an opportunity to meet Office Bearers and Active Workers across the United Kingdom and we had just under 250 people attend from all eight regions.
We were very fortunate to have our guest speaker, Brother Nimish Pandya, Vice Chair of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, address us virtually from India, sharing his experiences and thoughts on the theme ‘Rejoice in His Omnipresence’ and how Swami expects us, as Office Bearers and Active Workers, to behave and work in His Name. We also had a short talk by the European Zonal President for the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, Brother Philipp von Dietlein, who emphasised the power of prayer and the importance of chanting ‘Samasta Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’.
Dear Swami, we pray that You continue to shower Your love and grace on everyone and keep us at Your Lotus Feet.
Jai Sai Ram
