Our volunteers here at the Albany Historic Carousel & Museum are priceless. We would not be where we are at, without them. The countless hours of carving, painting, giving tours, welcoming our guests, assisting in the gift shop, and serving up tasty treats in our Carousel Café. And let us not forget, the countless hours of giving rides and now cleaning our animals between each ride. They are truly PRICELESS.
We are currently looking for more volunteers to join our team. We have a definite need to find individuals who want a hang out at a fun place and bring joy to our guests. Shifts are short and there are so many to choose from. Do you love talking to people—then the Greeter position might be for you. Love sharing the history of our museum space with guests from all over the world, then a Tour Guide is for you. Love selling fun toys and souvenirs to guests, the Gift Shop is the place to be. Plus we have even more positions that might interest you.
Our volunteers need to be at least 15 years old to volunteer here. This makes the carousel a great place to work on your volunteer hours needed for graduation, as well as earn experience before looking for that first paying job.
Wherever you are at in life, the carousel would love to have you join us! We have two upcoming events to hear more about it as well as ask all those burning questions:
OCTOBER 20TH 6-7-8 PM
OCTOBER 21ST 2-3-4 PM
At the top of each hour, Ross, our Volunteer Coordinator, and volunteers will be sharing information about volunteering. After the presentation, you can ask questions, speak to others, or take a tour! We will be serving refreshments. Masks/Face coverings will be required unless you are eating or drinking.
