"O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever." Psalm 118:29 KJV

Maurette Brown Clark wrote the popular gospel song, “Just Want To Praise You.” The powerful lyrics say in part, “…blessings and glory and honor, they all belong to You. Thank you Jesus, for blessing me!” The act of thanksgiving is one of the most important elements of worship. And as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day this week with family and friends let gratefulness and thankfulness abound in our hearts and minds.
We have so much to be grateful for. Psalms 23 promises us that…The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 50:23 states…“The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”
Psalm 100:1-5 teaches us to…“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
And Psalm 136:1-3 instructs us to…“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
To God Be The Glory.. for an attitude of gratitude! The greatest gift from God is salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. When we give thanks in the truest sense of the biblical word, we offer God our praises and acknowledge to Him that He is the Giver of all good and perfect gifts. Happy Thanksgiving!

Every holiday season brings an opportunity to spend quality time at home with loved ones. While some parents worry that time away from school might hinder their child's learning progress, most teachers emphasize the importance of rest and relaxation during breaks. Children need time to recharge and reset before diving back into their studies.
However, this doesn't mean you can't incorporate fun and engaging activities that stimulate their minds and keep them learning throughout the holidays. Here are 10 simple yet effective ways to foster learning and growth during the festive season:
2.
Handwritten Holiday Cards and Thank-You Notes: Reviving

the age of digital communication, handwritten cards and thank-you
notes are a valuable way to practice writing skills and cultivate
gratitude.
-
Embrace

a personal message on the back.
-
Express
gratitude through thank-you notes: Encourage your child to write
thank-you notes to family, friends, and gift-givers, reinforcing

Creamy Pasta with Crispy Mushrooms
Ingredients:
- 4 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1lb. mixed mushrooms (such as maitake, oyster, crimini, and/or shiitake), torn into bite-size pieces
- Kosher salt
- 2 medium shallots, finely chopped
- 1lb. spaghetti or bucatini
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1/3 cup finely chopped parsley
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1/2 oz. Parmesan, finely grated (about 1/2 cup), plus more for serving
- Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a large pot over medium-high. Cook half of mushrooms in a single layer, undisturbed, until edges are brown and starting to crisp, about 3 minutes. Give mushrooms a toss and continue to cook, tossing occasionally, until all sides are brown and crisp, about 5 minutes more.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer mushrooms to a plate; season with salt. Repeat with remaining 2 Tbsp. oil and mushrooms and more salt.
Reduce heat to medium-low and return all of the mushrooms to the pot. Add shallots and cook, stirring often, until shallots are translucent and softened, about 2 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water, stirring occasionally, until very al dente, about 2 minutes less than package directions.
Using tongs, transfer pasta to pot with mushrooms and add cream and 1 cup pasta cooking liquid.
Increase heat to medium, bring to a simmer, and cook, tossing constantly, until pasta is al dente and liquid is slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
Remove pot from heat. Add lemon zest and juice, parsley, butter, 1/2 oz. Parmesan, and lots of pepper and toss to combine. Taste and season with more salt if needed.
Divide pasta among bowls and top with more Parmesan.

BED BUGS
Here are some tips for dealing with bed bugs:
Prevention
Keep your home clean and free of clutter, especially in your bedroom. Vacuum regularly, including mattresses, box springs, furniture, and carpets. You can also use a mattress and box spring cover, and seal cracks and crevices in your home.
Inspection
Check for bed bugs and bites regularly. You can use a flashlight to look in dark areas like behind the headboard and under the bed. Look for dark rust-colored spots on mattresses and sheets.
Treatment
If you have an infestation, you can try these methods:
Wash bedding: Wash bedding and clothing in hot water and dry on high heat.
Vacuum mattresses: Vacuum mattresses, seal them in plastic, and leave them outside in the sun.
Use a pesticide: Spray common hiding spots with a surface pesticide that's registered to control bed bugs. Follow the label directions carefully.
Use a home remedy: Sprinkle baking soda on areas where you think bed bugs are, let it sit for a week, and then vacuum. Repeat until there are no more bugs or eggs.
Call a professional
If you can't get rid of the bed bugs on your own, you can call a professional exterminator.

FLU
Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death.
Flu shots are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding a flu vaccination.
RSV
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common, contagious virus that usually causes mild symptoms. In older adults and adults with certain underlying conditions, RSV can cause severe infections.
RSV shots are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding a RSV vaccination.
COVID-19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Anyone can get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age.
The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the disease and how the virus spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by staying at least 1 metre apart from others, wearing a properly fitted mask, and washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently. Get vaccinated when it’s your turn and follow local guidance.
The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols. It is important to practice respiratory etiquette, for example by coughing into a flexed elbow, and to stay home and self-isolate until you recover if you feel unwell.
Both COVID vaccines and Booster COVID vaccines are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding COVID vaccinations.
