Hi !
I hope this email finds you well. This past week has been a good one. I had a good Thanksgiving break with my family and did something I rarely do and did not work AT ALL.
Instead, I spent lots of time with my husband's side of the family, ate good food, and even did some crafting which I rarely make time for these days. (You'll see in the photo below that I *may* have gone a bit overboard in making pumpkins at my mother in law's house on Saturday.)
I love my work and am so thankful that I get to do my dream job, but it was also good for my soul to just be a mom, wife and friend for a few days instead of an author and business owner. 😉
As part of our celebrations, we ended up going to the lighting ceremony that my town has. I've lived here for most of my life and only thought "lighting ceremonies" only happened in Hallmark movies, but a couple years ago our city started this fun tradition and we try to attend every year.
There were vendors with hot chocolate and other yummy treats, some live entertainment on a stage that was set up in front of city office building, and near the end of the program, Santa Claus even flew in on a helicopter! (Cool, right??)
Then with Santa on the stage, the announcer had us all count down as they lit up the lights we have on main street, ending night with a fun firework display.
That really does sound like its straight from a Hallmark movie, right?
Anyway, it was fun to attend something in my community and even if it was a bit cold for a couple of my kids (my youngest looks really unhappy in one of the photos below), I think it will be a fun memory for use all.
