The EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network is organising a web discussion on "Empowering the private sector for climate change action", scheduled for Thursday 11 June 2020 at 12.00 CET

Action from the private sector on climate change is increasingly seen by the global community as critical. Businesses can operate across national and regional boundaries and can act more quickly than governments. Many companies in the EU and GCC are also setting increasingly ambitious goals for co2 reduction and clean energy that often outstrip national targets. This webinar heard the views from businesses operating in both the EU and GCC on a few key questions such as:

  • What is driving businesses to act on climate change and clean energy?
  • How can governments facilitate and accelerate action?
  • How is the current covid-19 crisis affecting business action on climate change?
