Some new things:
- Jeff Bridges' Sleeping Tapes
- Why are things I like being updated by HBO with the same default slick look that's on every other HBO drama?
- Haven't looked at The White Lotus yet, but the soundtrack alone is impressive.
Cristobal Tapia de Veer also did killer work on Utopia.
- Just another little daily truth.
- For those of you iPhone Spielbergs out there.
- Fear Street is more brutal than I thought. And for what it's trying to achieve, it's immensely skillful. Didn't anticipate to feel so tense watching something that comes from a teen book series. Then again, I only ever read some Goosebumps.
One of the cool takeaways is that history -- as recorded -- isn't always accurate. How does this apply to the real world today? Is history written by the winners? Maybe. Or maybe it's something more confusing. And cynical. Maybe everything -- including history -- depends on what bubble you live in.
- But still, let's try to use history to study the present. Menticide. Keep it in mind.
