Information has been received stating that there is an increased threat of Iranian forces preparing to seize merchant vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, imminently until 23:59 UTC on the 15th of August 2023.

It is strongly advised that all vessels transiting in this area to follow all guidance provided in BMP5, maintain a heightened level of security, and ensure they are registered and reporting to the UKMTO.
