Penang 槟城 (Malay: Pulau Pinang) is an island-state off the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The temperature is often reaching as high as 35°C during the day. Be prepare your summer dresses and breezy breathable attire.

ATMs widely available. Credit cards accepted in most hotels and restaurants. Cash is still necessary in Penang, especially outside of George Town. Currency : The ringgit (RM) is made up of 100 sen. Coins in use are 1 sen (rare), 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and 50 sen; notes come in RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20, RM50 and RM100.

Go with Grab better than Taxi

Grab is widely used and it’s the cheapest option to get around the populated east side of the island between George Town, Batu Ferringhi, and the airport.     If you would like to travel the streets in style, then go for a trishaw ride. It’s a slower way to travel compared to a taxi or bus, but slowing down gives you the chance to sip in the nook and crannies of Georgetown and it’s a novel experience in itself. The trishaw riders are also full of information about tourist attractions as well.
