Hi everyone and happy summer!
I have important news this month.
First, the next book in The Able Archers series, The Righteous Arrows, will be published by Koehler Books in April 2024. I wish it could be released sooner, but Koehler is very busy these days and next spring is the earliest we can get The Righteous Arrows onto their production schedule. Once again, Kevin Cattani and Ivan Levchenko are the main characters and narrators. You’ll see that a favorite of many readers – the outrageous red-haired major – has a much larger role in The Righteous Arrows than he had in The Able Archers.
Second, I have been working on the television treatment for The Able Archers at the request of my Hollywood agent and the producer who will bring the book to the small screen. I’ve never written a TV treatment before and it has been an exciting and at times daunting learning experience. As you might imagine, the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike has slowed down everything in the movie and TV industry and by writing the TV treatment myself, my team and I will be ready to find a screenwriter and director for The Able Archers once the strike ends.
I continue to be interviewed periodically by BBC2 television for their documentary series “Spy Wars,” hosted by Damien Lewis. They are doing an episode on the Able Archer crisis and plan to air it in November 2023. As I’ve mentioned previously, I will be appearing in a new Netflix eight-part “Turning Point” documentary series on the Cold War that should air late this year.
I’m continuing to do appearances and talks and this past weekend I gave a presentation on The Able Archers to the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization. I met some terrific Harvard vets and we all had a lot of fun.
Finally, The Able Archers in print and audio makes a great Father's Day gift, so keep it in mind. You can order from Amazon or go to my website at brianjmorra.com for links to Amazon and BN.com.
