The 35th Annual Kennett Run

Ready… Set… Run! The Kennett Run is back, gearing up for its 35th year of racing through the picturesque streets of Kennett Square on Saturday, May 4th. The cornerstone of this legacy, which has raised over $1.28 million for local nonprofits, is the community. Powered by the community, for the community, lace up those sneakers and be a part of this local tradition.

With six options—including our unique PoweRun event—there’s something for everyone. Whether tackling the 5K Run/Walk presented by ChristianaCare, conquering the 10K, leveling up for the PowerRun, or cheering on the youngest runners in the Kids Fun Run, this race is for all skill levels, abilities, and ages. Run, don’t walk to register, as Early Bird Registration ends on Saturday, April 6th!

Beautification Committee Plant Sale: May 4-5

Mark your calendar to help Kennett bloom while filling your own garden with beauty! The annual Kennett Beautification Committee plant sale is coming up on Saturday, May 4 (8am to 4pm) and Sunday, May 5 (10am to 3pm) at Pratt’s Greenhouse: 634 Hillendale Road, Avondale. A portion of proceeds goes directly back to filling planters around town with the seasonal flowers we all enjoy.

Level 2 Six-Week Fashion Illustration

In this course, students will be introduced to a wide range of fashion illustration techniques that David Ferron has learned while working as a professional fashion designer for over a decade. Upon completion, students will possess a strong grasp of fashion illustration techniques using Copic markers, colored pencils, and watercolor.

Farmers Market Friday!

We can't wait to see you Friday 3–5:30 pm just outside The Creamery! After such a wet week, we will all be ready to enjoy a dry market on Friday — especially your farmers who have been busy with spring farm work through the mud, rain and wind. Plan to get outside, prepare your list to stock up, and shop all the locally-grown and locally-made goodness they have prepared for you to savor this weekend and beyond!

April continues to be a season of transition and growth, and the market will continue bi-weekly “winter” hours this month (4/5 + 4/19). The weekly season will begin on May 3!
