As we’ve all heard by now, the Provincial Government announced the loosening of COVID-19 measures in the coming weeks, specifically those regarding team sports. This is great news- we’re one step closer to returning to the field to play the sports we love, and most importantly for most, to finally be able to socialize with our friends and sports community.
The team registration period will be extended until Friday, May 28th. We hope you'll take part ! A reminder that players can play on up to two teams this season.
WHAT WE KNOW: Outdoor sports have been greenlighted to resume on June 11th and indoor sports on June 28th. 25 individuals per field will be permitted, as it was in the Fall of 2020!
WHAT IS STILL UNCLEAR: Almost one week after Premier Legault’s press conference, there has yet to be any clarification from the Premier nor from his Minister of Sports, Isabelle Charest, if the aforementioned dates are limited to team training and practices exclusively, or if competitive games can also resume. We have spent hours researching this over the last week, and there is still no confirmation available anywhere.
WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE FPF: Despite the lack of clarity, we are planning on moving ahead with a season that will begin in only three short weeks (on Friday, June 11th) until we receive word that we cannot do so. Should the eventual clarification specify that games are not yet permitted by the 11th, we will abide by the protocols and begin as soon as we can in the weeks to follow.
SCHEDULING: Most of our partnering facilities, as well as the city of Montreal, are still not confirming rentals since they too, do not have clear instructions from the Provincial and Municipal authorities. As a result, it is not possible at this time to offer the usual confirmed list of days/locations we usually do prior to teams signing up. In the meantime, we are sharing this list of projected (unconfirmed) days/locations for Spring 2021. It goes without saying that once we have any confirmation, we will share it with our community.
Thursday [OUTDOORS] – Multi-Sports de Laval: 7 pm to 11 pm
Thursday [INDOORS] – Complexe Bell Brossard: 7 pm to 11 pm
Friday [OUTDOORS] – Multi-Sports de Laval: 7 pm to 11 pm

Sunday {OUTDOORS] – Multi-Sports de Laval: 3 pm to 11 pm
Monday [INDOORS] – Stade de Soccer de Montreal : 7 pm to 11 pm
Monday [INDOORS] – Complexe Sportif St-Laurent: 8 pm to 11 pm
*We plan to offer both indoor and outdoor options this Spring- which teams can set a preference for via the Skedbuilder software at the end of May. Outdoor fields are expected to be available 2-3 weeks before indoor fields.
Finally, due to the lack of finalized day and location offerings, FPF wishes to clarify that in the event that a team registers for the Spring 2021 season, and is not satisfied with the final days and locations offered, they have the right to withdraw their registration and be refunded their deposit prior to the schedule building process. We do not expect the above projections to change dramatically, but we still wish to clarify this nonetheless, since unconfirmed scheduling options during registrations has never happened before.
Teams are encouraged/reminded to utilize their credits from the W20 and F20 seasons.
Projected Championship Date (last day of the season) is Friday, September 3rd
