This month we celebrated Foster Care Month. Our focus was to educate the public on the benefits of foster care and highlight the plight of the children in our community.
Statistics are always important to be aware of and currently we have:
· 801 foster families
· 1 030 children in foster care
· 66% of our children in foster care were orphaned by the death of their parent, resulting in a foster care placement
· 34% of our children in foster care were placed in foster care after being exposed to circumstances of neglect / abuse / abandoned
Children are not able to fend for themselves and it is up to us to give them a place of safety and somewhere they can call home and feel safe. The wellbeing of our children is heavy on our hearts and our goal is to give them that safety when they have been put into foster care due to circumstances.

We thank you all for your continued support.

Making a Difference
How you can help this winter
As the winter is upon us, anyone who would like to donate blankets, warm children’s clothing and shoes is welcome to contact us. We are willing to arrange collection as well. We are also asking for donations of packets of soup to add to our pantry for distribution to families in need.
Considering the increase in COVID-19 cases and the need to ensure that we play our part in social distancing we need to do Mandela Day differently this year. Instead of companies coming to our offices to participate in an activity as a team, we are asking that companies donate towards the activity. As an example our palisade fencing needs to be sanded down, primer added and re-painted. Through donations received we can secure the services of a person/s affected by job loss / retrenchment to come and sand, prime and paint our palisade fencing on behalf of the donors.
