There are a number of long distance walks that pass through Settle. The most famous linear one of the north of England is the Pennine Way. Although it's actual route finds its way a few miles north of here (Settle) in the Village of Horton in Ribblesdale. Some guests and visitors use the train or bus to stay in Settle. Taking advantage of a few more attractions and facilities the town has to offer.
This was the case recently with a group of walkers, one of which stayed a couple of nights to complete two sections of the route using the train to access to and from the Pennine Way. One remarkable reason for featuring this particular guest was she was part of a group walking for a cause close to her heart, called "Walking every inch" of the Pennine Way. Her friend Susan is suffering from Motor Neuron Disease and part of her fight and to bring awareness of the work of MNDA As things these days are all recorded on the Social Media seen, like following on instagram #WalkingThePositivePath and Facebook #Susan's Pennine Way Challenge even some very striking bobble hats as they walked every inch from Edale to Kirk Yetholm
This charity walk was done through this Just Giving page a great way to donate these days and make such a difference. So did they all achieve this challenge and what adventures did they have on the way...well I shall let you find out for yourself but there were 16,980,480 inches and more walked I'm sure!
