Look, I’m not a camper. Once upon a time, yes, but no, not anymore.

However, I WILL do a cabin with indoor plumbing and screened-in porch, which is how I spent the past week. 

My husband and I gave my mother-in-law the gift of a week at a cabin this summer, which obviously was a gift to ourselves, too! We were at an entry point to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota, which is part of Superior National Forest. No motor boats allowed.

Mosquitoes and other flying bugs are not a small part of why I don’t love camping, but as you can see from the photos below, screens and netting kept me in the happy zone!

It was a week filled with lots of reading, lots of writing, and endless amounts of beauty. If someone asks, “Why Minnesota?”. This is why.
