Did you miss our last book sale or are you looking for a way to support the library between sales? The Friends offers books and other items for purchase on an ongoing basis through our self-service bookshelves and trolleys.

Shop hardcover novels, cookbooks, children's books, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles, books in Polish, and more. The shelves are restocked on a regular basis, so be sure to take a peek every time you visit the library.

Find the Friends shelves on the first floor of the Library in the meeting room hallway, near the lobby (to your right as you enter the lobby through the front doors).

All items are individually priced. Prices are marked on the front page inside each book. Make a purchase by putting your payment in the lock box attached to the shelf. All proceeds support library programs and projects.

Have you ever seen a yard sign letting you know a Friends of the Library Book Sale was happening that weekend? Have you ever wanted to display a sign in your own yard?

The Friends will be printing new yard signs and we are looking for people in the Mount Prospect community who are willing to display a sign in their front yard five times a year, putting it out the Sunday before each sale weekend and taking it down the Sunday after.

Since the cost to print each sign is high, we want to make sure any signs that are given out are displayed where they'll have the most impact. For that reason, we're asking Mount Prospect residents who are interested in displaying a sign to share the address where the sign would be displayed.

Sharing your address isn't a guarantee that you'll be given a sign, but it will help us learn who is interested in displaying one and where they are located. We are particularly looking for yards in residential areas, along streets with steady vehicle or pedestrian traffic, where signs are not currently being displayed.
