This is how our conversation begins...
Carissa: One of the threads from my life was that when I was young, I was highly sensitive, but I didn't know it. And so my experience was of feeling judged and shamed that I would all of a sudden get very moody when I was in a big crowd, or my parents would make all sorts of plans for me, and then I'd show up and say, I can't do this, there's too much stimulation going on. So I grew up with this story of what I later learned was high sensitivity.
After sharing more about how I found empowering ways of working with high sensitivity, yet felt this wasn't yet my full life mission story, Daniel had this to say:
Daniel: At the very least if you're working with other people who are also highly sensitive, who are still in the growing up process, then you could speak to that with them because of your experience. So there's that in terms of if you were called to work with those people,
The other aspect is, in the sense of what you are currently present to being fascinated with, motivated by, you notice you notice certain things. So starting from I notice I notice certain things, that's a communication with life about your life mission.
If you're highly sensitive, then what you notice you notice will be richer, broader, and deeper spectrum presence. So then you could say, both in a more refined sense of what you're present to and how you might be with what you're present to, in what way would that high sensitivity not just be an advantage but actually required?
So if you didn't have that sensitivity, what would you not be able to do? It was packed in your bags, that high sensitivity, right? So that what? The 'so-that-what' of why high sensitivity was packed in your bags applies in what way now, given what you are doing now.
And imagine if you amplify that 10 times or 100 times...if you imagine the highest level of what you're currently doing, and the highest level of what you're currently doing took advantage of that broader spectrum sensitivity, what would that look like? ... And then, what's the impact that would require that high sensitivity - even further development and embracing of that. So yes, embrace your high level of sensitivity, further develop it and then what's that amplified impact? And what's the level of that sensitivity required for you to embody that higher impact?
