Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've done a personal update. You might have noticed that I skipped last week's newsletter. I recently suffered a fall that resulted in several bone fractures and gnarly bruising (for the non-queasy, you can see my foot X-ray here), and I spent entirely too much time in the ER, family doctor's office, and orthopedic surgeon's waiting rooms this past week getting scanned, poked at, bled, and getting various opinions on treatment options.
For those who want to know how this happened, the story is unfortunately pretty tame. I was at a cousin's wedding, and at one point I was carrying the bride's dog down the stairs while wearing high heeled sandals. I missed a step, and as I went down I made sure to favor the pooch and break her fall so she wouldn't be hurt. Unfortunately that meant that my foot bent in a wholly unnatural direction. However, the pup was unharmed so that alone is worth my temporary inconvenience.
The scientist in me is incredibly intrigued by the stages of the healing process (although I'd be glad to only ever experience it once). But anyway, let's get onto the corset stuff!
