Things can still be tricky once you decide to stay friends with an ex, and there's no right way to deal with it. But here's how I've learnt to make this journey a tad bit easier:
1. Do a vibe check.
Discuss where they are at with their feelings for you and likewise with yourself. Have an honest and open conversation. It seems incredibly tough at first but once it's done, you'll be glad you talked things through!
2. Discuss boundaries.
What's acceptable and what's not! Talking about the past, especially sexy times, is bound to rekindle feelings or make someone uncomfortable.
3. Lean on your friends for support.
Lastly, reach out to your friends for support to navigate this weird phase. Whether it's - “I want to get back together” or “I can't believe they did that to me!” - text, they will always be here for you when you need to rant, fighting the urge to blurt “I told you so gurl!”
